McLeod Creative - Moving Forward
At McLeod Creative, staying on the front edge of design and marketing means that we are always researching the latest trends, technologies and marketing tactics. So rather than keep all of this information to ourselves, we thought we’d share this knowledge with our readers. Moving forward the McLeod Creative blog will be updated regularly with a variety of fun, unique and informative entries that will share some insight and some amusing findings that we’ve stumbled upon. We’ll cover a range of topics from design tips to marketing strategies…all of the things that we talk about and work with on a daily basis. And of course, we’ll also provide updates on current projects, accomplishments and general goings-on in and around McLeod Creative. We hope you enjoy!
The Haunted Ritz Theatre
Paranormal investigators were searching for evidence of ghosts and made contact with “Elizabeth”, a young girl who used to live on the property, when suddenly they all disappeared. A portal has been opened for evil spirits and we need your help to find the lost investigators!
Join us at The Haunted Ritz Theatre (715 N. Chaparral), October 23rd, 24th and 30th from 7:00 p.m. to midnight for haunted tours in search of the investigators. We’ll also have an 80th anniversary party for The Ritz Theatre on October 31st from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., featuring live music by The Groove, food, drinks and a costume contest!
A $15 donation at the door secures your ticket. Proceeds benefit The Ritz restoration project.

Stock photo of the day
Since most of our clients have tiny budgets, we have to resort to using cheap stock photography. Hours of searching for a decent image brings up lots of interesting things - we can't use. This search was done using the terms "group meeting"

Future Designers of Corpus Christi
Chula Vista Academy took a field trip to McLeod Creative with their teacher Susan Gaczewski. 16 5th graders learned how magazines are designed and produced and about all the ways marketing and graphic design can help almost anyone and any business! We loved having them!

The One flying off the stands
McLeod Creative has been busy busy with lots of new projects, growing staff and a new issue of The One!
McLeod's hottest new venture, The One Bride Guide, wowed the public at the January wedding fair in a "sneak peak" of the February issue. In just two short weeks we got a message from a brand new advertiser about two booked weddings directly from The One! Yes! Over 600 people took home The One at the fair and since then we've distributed over 3000 magazines to over 100 local outlets (see http://www.theonebrideguide.com for locations). At this rate, we'll be sold out (it's FREE) before the next issue in June, so grab your copy before you miss out!
Stay tuned for a new web site for The One launching in June (The One is turning ONE)!

Welcome Dan Gaines!
McLeod Creative is proud to welcome new Business Development Manager, Daniel Gaines, to the McLeod Creative team. Dan comes to McLeod from Indiana as The Pacers Foundation Coordinator where he fulfilled a variety of duties including the planning and execution of numerous major fundraising events. During his time in Indianapolis he also contributed to a number of projects, events, clinics and camps for the charitable foundations of professional athletes including NBA players Reggie Miller and Jermaine O’Neal, NFL athletes Peyton Manning, Marshall Faulk and Torry Holt and WNBA player Tamika Catchings. He also served on the board of Catchings’ foundation (Catch The Stars Foundation) for three years. Dan was also the Promotions Chair for The Big Ten Local Organizing Committee, a committee that successfully outbid Chicago to bring the Men’s and Women’s Big Ten Basketball Tournaments to Indianapolis for the next five years. Dan is very excited for the new challenges and opportunities ahead of him at McLeod Creative. He was drawn by the vision, passion and people that drive the company. He sees boundless potential for McLeod Creative not only as a creative enterprise, but also as a valuable contributor to the community and is very excited to be a part of it. We are thrilled to have him! Welcome Dan!
Happy Halloween!
Thanks to New Wave Photography's Rob and Amanda Pruett for hosting a smashing Halloween bash. Check out Monica and Ryan Sawyer as Raggedy Ann and Andy. Nate and Ashley Rippke sported Dharma Initiative garb (costumes made by the two designers!). If you don't know what the Dharma Initiative is, then you are LOST!
